How long do lash extensions last for?

Lash extensions last anywhere from 2-3 weeks, depending on how well you take care of them. The average person loses 2-5 natural lashes per day, which is why fills are recommended during a 2-3 week time frame.


How long are lash appointments?

Your lash appointment time will vary depending on how many natural lashes you have. Full sets can take anywhere from 2-2.5 hours, and fills can take anywhere from an 1-1.25 hours. Which includes removal of outgrown lashes and filling in spaces that need to be filled.


Are lash extensions safe for people who wear contacts and or glasses?

People who wear contact lenses are very suitable for lash extensions. As for glasses, the only real concern would be length. You will want to keep the length of your extensions to a reasonable length so that they won’t sweep against the lenses of your glasses. This will not affect the longevity of your lashes, it just might be slightly bothersome to feel them brush against your glasses every time you blink.


Can lash extensions affect the health of your natural lashes?

This is probably one of the biggest misconceptions people have. Lash extensions when done properly, will not compromise the health of your natural lashes. I strive to keep my clients natural lashes in great health. This is done by the assessment of your natural lashes before your appointment, and only using the correct length and weight that will maintain the integrity for your natural lashes.


Can I wear mascara with my lash extensions?

It is not recommended to wear mascara while having lash extensions. It can dramatically shorten the life of your pretty extensions, and you will have to come more frequently to keep them maintained with the look you want. Lash extensions are meant to help you be mascara free; With your pretty fluffy lash extensions, you won’t feel the need to coat your lashes with mascara. If you do put mascara on while sporting lash extensions, the oil that is in mascara and or the remover you would use to remove the mascara, will more than likely contain oil. Any oil found in products, will breakdown the bond of the adhesive which can cause your extensions to slip off or fall out before you are due for your next appointment.


How do I maintain my lash extensions?

To help keep your lashes looking their best, I recommend not getting them wet for 24 hours after your lash appointment. You will also want to avoid picking at your lashes or aggressively rubbing your eyes. Washing your lashes with extension safe products once every night is recommended for the health of your lashes. You want to remove daily dirt and debris found in the environment and any sweat and oil that accumulates throughout the day.


What do I cleanse them with?

You want to cleanse your lashes with an oil free cleanser. I offer a full line of lash extension safe products in my studio. I carry oil free cleansers, makeup removers and cleansing brushes at your convince, so that you know that you are going home with products that you will be safe using.


How do I sleep?

It is recommended that you sleep on your back if possible. If you sleep with the side of your face resting on a pillow, try to lay your hand down as a barrier between you and the pillow so that you don’t smash your pretty lashes extensions.


Can I wear eyeliner?

Once you get lash extensions, you won’t feel the need for liner on a daily basis. Let your lashes do the talking and go liner free! If you have an itch for a little extra drama and want to sport some liner for a special occasion, make sure that you are using either a powder shadow as a liner, or an oil free liquid liner.
